Pigeon Forge High School Reviews

I think PFHS does an excellent job is equipping students with the knowledge that they will need for college

PFHS is an awesome school. Nobody knows how good of a school this is. It's great and I don't think they are to hard on anybody they are trying to do their job.

We have 4 children. One of which attends PFHS. Students are given the same amount of days to make up work as the number of days missed. EX>> they miss 3 days they have 3 to make up the work. our daughter is a sophmore and loves this school. the students come from families of respect and the teachers and students go out of their way to make the other students feel welcome and and needed. We would not enroll our children in any other school. They all attend PF schools and have since Kindergarten. I would highly suggest this school to other parents and students not only for the academics, staff and sports, but for the whole package that comes with any school. Every school has rules and if followed correctly then there are no punishments. Past and Present students need to think of this.

I have seen where teachers here don't want to take the time to help the student. If your child misses a day for No fault of their own, but due to unforseen events in life Teachers will not allow them to make up work unless they get up earlier (Parent has to also then) and arrive at the school when the teacher does or they have to stay after (hence parent again has to arrange to do the pick up) instead of having them do it durning study hall (it's too much work on the study hall teacher,, was the excuse given) Too many teachers have an I don't care attitude when it comes to students that are not brainy students.

Pigeon Forge High School has undergone many different changes. Several of the 'problem' staff have left and many new educational upgrades have been made. I believe that PFHS is an extremely strong school, and that all of the students here are lucky to have been given such good opportunities. As with any school, there will always be students who do not wish to apply themselves, and staff who 'have their bad days'. PFHS is an extremely well rounded school.

The school administration here lacks good judgement like the majority of schools in this county. Poor teacher conduct.

As a graduate of this school, I would recommend this school over any school in Sevier Co. The teachers are incredible and it was just an incredible high school experience for me...Although this sounds as if I posted all 5's on this survey, I did not. Principal Schrandt was absolutely incredible at his job! He was loving and sincere, but I do not think I can say the same for some others on staff. They treat many students inadequately and give harsher punishment for unknown reasons...Many of the punishments are over something very little, which should just be taken with a grain of salt. It is not middle school so I think some teachers/administration need to pray for patience or just move out of teaching if they do not enjoy it because it's a greater 'calling' than they realize. Make it fun to go to class and prepare for college.

As a recent graduate of Pigeon Forge High School, I have to say that it has come far and has become one of the best, if not THE best, high school in the county. The environment is a friendly and educational one. Athletics, on occasion, do seem to be treated as more important than academics, but I think this problem is not confined only to this one school. Discipline does seem to go to one strange extreme or the other, with in-school-suspension for ridiculous reasons, and the occasional threat of 'silent lunch' ( for high schoolers? Come on....) But PFHS is gradually improving in these arenas and currently possesses some of the best teachers in the core curriculum areas, specifically mathematics. Almost every member of the staff is caring and puts the students as his or her top priority. There are always exceptions. But all in all, a fantastic high school!

Pigeon Forge High School is, as best, not a horrible school. One member of the administration directly insults students in a malevolent manner. The same member ostracizes students in front of other students, parents, and teachers. Honestly, I think that certain parts of the administration should be reconsidered, as he or she is on one horrible power trip. Pigeon Forge is unreasonably sheltered. When we students discuss the lack of leniency, it is almost a consensus that Pigeon Forge High School is still treated as if it were a middle school. The guidance office works to the best of their ability to help students, and I think they do a spectacular job. And teachers are mostly credible and are good at what they do.

I think that PFHS is a good school. As a sophomore, I think that our school is better than the rest. For instance, we dont have as many 'cliques' as other schools. People are readily accepted for who they are, which I find very cool. We do need a little more leadership, but overall I think our school is great and there are no limits to our horizons.

Pigeon Forge High School overall is an excellent school. The teachers are skilled and practice sound teaching methods. Moreover, they are good people whom the students can trust and look to in times of distress. The administration is fair and just in its leadership decisions. They provide an air of security at PFHS. The Guidance department is unparalleled in the county. The only complaint I, as a student at Pigeon Forge High School, would be that sometimes it seems that academics take a back seat to athletics. High priority is placed on the PFHS Football team. At the same time, it seems that the arts in the school are underfunded and underprivileged. That must change. Pigeon Forge gets an A in my book.

Pigeon Forge High School, overall, is a very good school for students of any background. I am a senior here and I am glad that I was able to experience my high school years here. Like any other school in history there are highs and lows to PFHS. As a Senior, I sometimes feel like my privileges are somewhat limited in certain ways and I also feel that sometimes we focus more on athletics than we do academics. But the teachers positive interaction with students and actually acting as human beings makes us better than any other school in this county. Parents, if you're looking for a good school for your child, this is it. The faculty, students, academics, athletics, and other various things make this school awesome. I [am] proud to say that I will be graduating a Pigeon Forge Tiger!

I am not a parent but a student here at PFHS and I disagree with the ratings that have been given. They enforce rules that are not written in the handbook and take them to the extreme. If anybody disagrees then you should go try and eat lunch with your child and see for yourself. One more thing, Sr. are treated like 1st graders and are cheated out of any privileges that any other normal high school would be entitled to. Parent involvement is high but only when it comes to money and sports.

I believe Pigeon Forge High School has an extremely well centered curriculum. It isn't all based on sports, or accademic. It has a wide range of services avaliable to the students.

Pigeon Forge is a well established high school and is by far the best I have ever seen. The teachers share a great relationship with the students and make them feel comforatable in the classroom. The teachers make learning fun for all involved. Anyone with a negative comment should do more see for themselves and not just listen to the oppinion of the child. I am a student at pigeon forge high and the majority of parents I have seen have a problem with the school has a child who slacks off in class. I am a sophomore and i for one think it is the greatest high school that a high school could possibly be.

I am not a parent, but I am a recent graduate with the Class of 2003. I believe Pigeon Forge High School is a great school, not only in academics, but in building character and responsibity traits. Where academics are concerned, PFHS has completely prepared me for college and life 'out there.' Each and every teacher provided me with different skills in which I have used this past year in college. The teachers are totally personable and allow you to get to know them; they also want to get to know you. The Administration also deserve that description. Both the Principal and the Vice Principal are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure PFHS is safe, welcoming, and a wonderful environment for students to learn. I reccommend PFHS to anyone looking for a wonderful, well-rounded high school.

Pigeon Forgee High is an up and coming high school that offers the students lots of great guidance as they pick and choose classes. The pricipal, guidance counselors and other staff really help prepare each student for the 4 years of school they will face there and challenge them. I am only getting to know the teachers this year but so far I have been impressed. If your after a sound challenging education for your child with lots of sincere guidance and push to excell then Pigeon Forge High School is for you. To be such a young school they really have it together and will only get better with time. Go Tigers!

Pigeon Forge is a good school, but they are to hard on the students.

The previous comment shows exactly why the teachers are rough on the students. It has atrocious spelling and grammer errors. I believe the school is doing extremely well with the students. In fact, I am one of them. I can say I've learned more from my teachers here than at any other school I have attended. The educators are our friends, and that is from the student's view.

This is an excellent environment for a student to be in--the academics absolutely come first with extracurricular and sports second. My son is a junior this year and has had nothing but positive experiences there. In regards to discipline, the situations that I have been aware of that have risen were addressed in an expedient manner and handled discretely and professionally for the improvement of the students involved. PFHS definitely gets an A+

pigeon forge high school is a good school,i just dont think they have a right to yell at the kids or use remarks that make the kids feel bad or lose self asteem, instead they should try and help them in a caring way so they like there school and not want to quit, that is very very important.
