Pi Beta Phi Elementary School Reviews

I have attended Pi Phi for almost 9 years now. I think it is a wonderful school. The teachers are great. The cafeteria meals are healthy and delicious. The library has a wide variety of books that are kept up to date. There are a lot of parents involved with their child's classes. Although I don't agree with everything the school does, I still recommend this school to anyone.

I have attended Pi Beta Phi for 8 years now and I really think it is a wonderful school. The teachers here do an outstanding job teaching their students. The library is spectacular because the librarian has kept the books up to date and has bought new books to put in the library with her own money. Although I don't agree with everything they do here at Pi Beta Phi I still recommend this school to anyone.

I used to be a student at Pi Beta Phi. I have seen teachers and asst. principals come and go, but one thing remains, PBP is a school that works hard to make sure their students achieve the ultimate education. I know that not everyone will agree with me, but I feel that if you were to choose any school in Sevier County that PBP would be the best one. Just look at how many students end up continuintg their education that came from PBP, and I am one of them. I say to those who look down on PBP that they need to look deeper than the top layer. PBP is a wonderful school and is very credible when it comes to faculty and staff. I know that every school has their problems, but teacher efficacy is not one of them. Do the math look at test scores. Ask students.

I take exception with the comments about Dr. Younger. She has dealt with some very sticky situations involving difficult students at this school and has done so in a very diplomatic way. Every decision she has reached has been in the best interest of the children and, more often than not, includes the parents involvement. Schools must have rules and she knows them and applies them equally and fairly. Both my children love Dr. Younger because she takes the time to get to know them and they knows she cares about their success at school. Compared to the other schools in this county, we have the best program going - hands down!

My Child attends Pi Beta Phi Elementary School. One important attribute at PBP is the student to teacher ratio. I feel children get more individual attention. I am proud of the 'two year classroom program' for kindergarten where the students stay with the same teacher for kindergarten and first grade. Research shows children get an extra boost of confidence and this helps prepare them for second grade. The principal Mr. Bogart and the Vice Principal Dr. Younger display excellent leadership and know each of the 511 students by name. All the teachers are of the highest quality. I am especially proud of the 'Parks as Classrooms' Program sponsored by The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Children get a 'hands on' approach to learning verses the traditional textbook. My child is being given the encouragement and confidence she needs to go out into the world. Thanks to the Staff!

I would like to add my opinion on vice principal, Jennifer Younger. I believe this woman is not suitable for this job. She looks at children by their popularity or parents income as the best students. If your child is not popular or your not rich, she has problems with them and they have problems in school. Each child should be treated equally.

Pi beta phi seems like a nice school from the outside. However, the problem lies with the asst. Principal (dr. Jennifer younger). The method in which she determines how to discipline and punish the students is not acceptable! instead of teaching and instilling values in these children she shuffles them through with paperwork and punishment. What seems like a nice little elementary school in the mountains is very misleading within the walls of the school. Just hope your child never gets in trouble with senseless nonsense in the path of dr. Jennifer younger. More focus should be spent on more serious issues not tattletale kids. Think twice before sending your child to this school.
