My husband and I went here today, and as always the whole experience was phenomenal. We have been traveling in the mountains for the past several weeks, and this was the one restaurant I was looking forward to the most!
We came to TN a few years back (in 2006), and the Applewood was right behind our hotel; so we checked it out. It is addicting! We went once a day for the rest of our trip!
Today we went back, and had the same experience that we had before. Exceptional. The service is great, the atmosphere is great - and the food is out of this world. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner there, and it is all wonderful. I couldnt recommend the Applewood more. The only con I can find is, its hard to choose what to eat because you wont be disappointed with any of it. If you are traveling to Gatlinburg, or Seviersville - the Applewood is a MUST!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Good Food, Good Service

The Applewood is a great place to eat. I had become "restaurant shy" after having a few bad experiences in Gatlinburg. As I went into the Applewood, I asked a man if the food was good and he opened a to-go box and showed me his leftovers. It was pork loin and looked so good. I went inside and ordered the pork and it was the best I had ever eaten. Better than my own. The menu said it was grilled over apple wood but it tasted more like it was marinated in apple cider. My friend had the country fried steak and it was crispy but not greasy. The meal was my favorite in this city and I recommend this restaurant. The prices were reasonable and portions were large.
Pros: Clean, On-site parking, Friendly staff
Cons: May have to wait
Unexpected gem

We happened upon this restaurant quite by accident in June of 2004. It was pretty on the outside, had free parking (a precious thing in Gatlinburg), good food, generous portions and reasonable prices. I was hesitant, at first, because there weren't many patrons waiting, but they were short-handed and weren't able to seat us right away. Apparently, this location had just opened and they weren't prepared for the overwhelming flood of hungry customers. It was well worth the wait. The difference was subtle, and I didn't realize it at first, but by the time we left, we were sold (it may be something in the Applewoods Apple Fritters with Homemade Apple Butter). Beware, there are many imitators in the area since the Applewood Farmhouse has become popular. Don't miss this great experience.
Pros: Free parking, Food, Service, Reasonably priced
Cons: Could get crowded., Fritters: addictive?
